*Not taking new clients* Welcome to Rewired Therapy, I am so glad you are here. My name is Dr. Shawn Wunderlich PhD, LCPC. I am aLicensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Wisconsin. I have seven years in the counseling field ranging from community mental health to private practice. I specialize in trauma and have studied childhood sexual abuse extensively as the topic of my dissertation. I am certified in EMDR therapy and am an EMDR Consultant in Training. EMDR therapy is an evidence based treatment for trauma that utilizes bilateral movement to assist the brain in resuming its natural healing process so that past memories are not experienced as present. I utilize EMDR in almost all of my sessions and with most clients. Should you want to know more about EMDR please see www.emdria.org. My approach to therapy utilizes a humanistic approach mixed with psychoanalytic, neuroscience, and attachment theories. I am non-directive in my approach and pride myself in being able to connect with clients quickly by providing genuine, empathic, and, at times, humorous approaches to therapy. I am able to create a safe space and walk alongside my clients while they process traumatic experiences they have endured and work to empower them to tackle their struggles and find the strength that they have within themselves so that they can reclaim their past and change their future. Here at Rewired Therapy PLLC, my goal is to help clients experience a renewal and rewire of the traumatic experiences they have endured so they can reclaim their past, empower their future, and experience a new beginning.
